I am Renee, Licensed Professional Counselor in South Carolina.

When you’ve experienced trauma or chronic stress, it literally changes how your nervous system processes the world. Traditional talk therapy can be incredibly helpful, but sometimes talking about the past isn’t enough to heal it. That is because trauma isn’t a problem of logic; it is stored deeply within the body.

My Approach

I specialize in helping adults break free from the grip of past trauma using a bottom-up, body-based approach. As a trauma therapist trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), I don’t just ask you to recount your darkest days. Instead, we work together to gently jumpstart your brain’s natural healing system.

By utilizing Bilateral Stimulation (BLS), we take the painful, overwhelming physical charge out of old memories. The goal isn’t to erase your history—it’s to safely file it away in the past so you can finally feel anchored, calm, and present in the here and now.

Therapy with me is collaborative, deeply relational, and paced entirely at your comfort level. We will spend our first sessions building a solid foundation of safety, grounding skills, and trust before we ever begin reprocessing memories.
